Technology:
– Excellent UV-Protection – TÜV approved. For the first time in Germany TÜV Rheinland and iQ-UV have tested clothing for for day-to-day use. iQ-UV has also continuously optimised it over many years of intensive research and development. All products meet the highest Australian-New Zealand standards (AS/NZS 4399:2017) UPF 50+ excellent UV-Protection. At the same time, the UV products are tested and certified according to UV Standard 801 by the Hohenstein Institute.
– PET bottles. iQ-UV clothing for leisure and outdoor activities consists of 64% recycled PET bottles. Our production is purely mechanical, without any use of chemicals (Tencel – botanical fibres made from renewable cellulose). With each iQ-UV shirt, you can reduce the gigantic mountain of plastic waste by five PET bottles, which also reduces the CO² emissions caused by burning these bottles by three kilograms per kilogram of material. More tragic – and unfortunately unknown to many – is the water usage in the traditional production of fashion. Around 22,000 litres are needed for one kilogram of cotton, around 43 litres for polyester and only three litres per kilogram for recycling PET bottles and production of the high-quality ´´UV protection double face´´ iQ-UV materials. In addition, there is no need for pesticides in the production of recycled materials. In addition, there is no need for pesticides in the production of recycled materials. In contrast, 167 different pesticides are used to produce one kilogram of cotton. Toxins you´d rather avoid in your body.
– UV protective clothing is the most sustainable sun protection. Each IQ-UV shirt reduces plastic waste by up to 40 tubes of sunscreen and saves thousands of litres of precious fresh water compared to cotton. Our environmentally friendly materials are free of harmful substances that could end up in waste water during production. We manufacture our fabrics and sew our clothes under fair working conditions in France, Italy, Poland and Portugal. Sustainability and fairness are very important to us.
– Sustainability – Made in Europe. iQ-UV is committed not only to skin protection but also protects the environment. We produce in Europe, we ensure short transport distances and we use recycled raw materials for our products. An unbeatable carbon footprint is the payoff that also gives our customers a peace of mind every time they make a purchase.
– Safety in compliance with the EU regulations. This is a certified sun protection product from IQ-UV that complies with the European PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Regulation (EC) 2016/425 and fulfils the standards EN ISO 13688:2013 and EN 13758-2:2003+A1:2006 and AS/NZS 4399:2017.
– Oeko-Tex Standard 100. Our products are guaranteed free of harmful substances, as we only use materials that are completely free of pollutants. All iQ-UV 300 products meet the requirements of the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 in the highest test class and are therefore approved for babies and toddlers. This makes our clothing ideal for the youngest children, because they are particularly vulnerable to UV radiation.
